Dutch duo to double victory – New track record in 5000 meters

Chris Huizinga from the Netherlands dominated the men’s 5000 meters. He won the gold medal with a winning margin of 10.05 seconds. Silver medalist was Marwin Talsma also from the Netherlands. Talsma has the World Leading time in 5000 meters. Graeme Fish from Canada was third. All three skaters were the biggest favorites before the event too. So there wasn’t any surprises there. Although Huizinga had such a withering winning margin that he passed Allan Dahl Johansson in the allround competition. Therefore Huizinga is now a double champion too. Tyson Langelaar from Canada won the bronze medal in allround competition.
